Not much is more horrifying than discovering big roaches living among us! Our Desert area is home for these local Roaches, they love the warm tempritures, and moisture provided by watering systems or Monsoon rains. We have a few species of roaches in our valley, the majority of them being American Roaches, Turkestan, and Oriental Cockroaches. These species are commonly referred to as “water bugs” or “sewer roaches”. American Roaches are the ones who actually DO live in sewers. They are 1-2 inch long as adults, American Roaches getting a bit larger than Turkestan or Orientals. Turkestan and Oriental roaches have wings but don’t fly. American Cockroaches get a bit bigger (up to 2 inches) and they do fly.
All Roaches can be a bit elusive because they are nocturnal, and much more active at night. Roaches could easily be missed by a casual inspection because they often come out after dark . These roaches generally live outside, and can enter your home in various ways including: open doors, open windows, loose fitting pipes, sewer drains that arent used regularly, and vents, or any other opening.
Regular pest control services are required to eliminate Cockroaches and prevent future infestations.
All roaches reproduse quickly, and left untreated they’re populations EXPLODE! Female Cockroaches drop dark “egg cases” filled with her eggs. Cockroach eggs are protected from the environment in their “egg case”, and can not be exterminated by ONE pest control application alone. These Roach eggs hatch on their own in about two months.
